Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

West Lebanon--(CNS)-- Mrs. Myrtle Mabel Hiatt, 69, wife of Jesse Warren Hiatt of Perrysville Route 1, died at 2:40 p. m. (CST) Wednesday (Aug. 30, 1950) at her home. She had been seriously ill for the past three months and an invalid with rheumatic arthritis for the past 35 years. She was born Dec. 14, 1880, at State Line, the daughter of Bruce and Luella Sicks Byers. She was married to Jesse Warren Hiatt Feb. 20, 1907. Surviving besides the husband are a son, David of Rockville; a daughter, Mrs. Avis Sheets of Georgetown; two brothers, Guy Byers of Williamsport and Roy Byers of Peoria, and four grandchildren. The body is at the Hamilton Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. (DST) Friday. The Rev. Mr. Gallagher of Rockville will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Danville.  --typed by Walt W
